Simulation of multi-pass confocal ultra-short pulse amplifier

The purpose of this application note is to describe the simulation, using Commod Pro, of short pulse amplification inside a confocal cavity. Simulations are compared with experimental results obtained by A. Ruiz-de-la-Cruz and R. Rangel-Rojo. The article “Multi-pass confocal ultra-short pulse amplifier” has been published in the review “Revista Mexicana de Fisica” [1]. Commod Pro performs simulation of the four following stages: amplifier pumping, pulse stretching, multi-pass amplification and recompressing as well. In addition Commod Pro shows how to optimize the multi-pass cavity to maximize the amplification factor while keeping a short pulse after the compressor stage.
